The marriage of art and science

Imbibe is a leader in formulating and commercializing ready-to-drink teas, where success is driven by mastery of three distinct disciplines: knowledge of the wide range of tea varietals and their specific flavor profiles, expertise in creating supporting flavor systems that ensure consistent product taste when using natural components that have inherent taste variability, and component unitization to simplify the manufacturing process.

Imbibe has years of experience working with teas, and has built an extensive base of knowledge around the different types of teas and the various growing regions to source them from. We work directly with growers and processors to fine tune the desired flavor profile in a specific tea, and then to convert the loose leaf into aromas and extracts that are used in creating RTD beverages. These components for the base of the beverage, delivering the distinctive tea character and associated label claims.

Once the base formulation is designed, Imbibe creates supporting flavor systems that serve to add specific, nuanced flavor characteristics and to ensure consistent overall taste from batch to batch. As with any agricultural commodity, teas can vary in their flavor depending on where and when they were grown. Imbibe's flavor technology ensures that the finished beverage delivers a consistent flavor experience and compensates for any crop-to-crop variability in the tea components.

With the beverage design completed, Imbibe goes to work consolidating and unitizing ingredients to ensure consistency and minimize the potential for errors during batching and bottling. Many tea beverages contain combinations of dry tea ingredients, more dilute, liquid tea aromas and highly concentrated supporting flavors. Imbibe creates custom bottling "kits" based on the specific production equipment of each bottling facility. Ingredients are weighed out and packaged in single batch quantities, eliminating the need for the bottler to weigh out ingredients. This approach reduces the opportunity for error and reduces batching time for the bottler.

In addition to private label tea product development, Imbibe also markets its Arteasia™ line of tea + juice beverages. Sold at leading retailers in a 1.5L PET format, Arteasia™ is a unique line that combines green, white and black tea with fruit juices to create highly drinkable, flavorful teas. Arteasia™ is currently available in three flavors: Green Tea + Citrus, White Tea + Pomegranate, and Black Tea + Peach.
