Imbibe was originally founded in 1963 by Mr. Sumner Katz, a well-renown food scientist and entrepreneur.  Over the past 45 years, Imbibe has continued to build upon both its experience and its role as industry leader in the creation of new beverages.

Imbibe’s expertise covers the full range of beverage disciplines including: flavor chemistry, ingredient technology, applications and formulas, packaging development, bottling production, and quality assurance.

Imbibe is a unique resource with the capabilities to turn ideas into finished drinks in powder, liquid and concentrate form with unrivaled quality, taste and speed-to-market.


Imbibe’s portfolio of beverages is constantly expanding in response to consumer’s evolving needs and the introduction of new and innovative ingredient and packaging technologies.


Our facilities and resources

Our corporate offices and laboratories are located in the Chicago, IL area.

We have a technical staff of seven food scientists, flavor chemists and production specialists.

We manufacture beverages in over 25 facilities throughout the continental USA and 5 international facilities.

We interact with leading academic institutions and their food science departments, professional industry associations, and specialty  research and development enterprises.
